Mastering studio in Warsaw

A mastering studio in Warsaw - a room built with Andrzej Lipiński, L707A Signature monitors, mastering from 300 PLN with a package of 2 revision sessions. Żoliborz, 600 m from the Dworzec Gdański station. Running since 2017.

In short: Our mastering studio in Warsaw runs in a separate room built together with Andrzej Lipiński, a loudspeaker designer. We work on flagship L707A Signature monitors and a Ravenna - Merging Horus - Mytek path. Mastering a track starts from 300 PLN with a package of 2 revision sessions. You can come to the session and sit next to the engineer, or drop off the stems and receive the finished master remotely. We are at Mickiewicza 9 in Żoliborz, 600 metres from the Dworzec Gdański station. We have been running since 2017.

Mastering is the last stage a track goes through before it reaches streaming or a physical release. On it we set the loudness and even out the sound so the whole thing holds together on every playback system, from headphones to a car radio.

Whether a master comes out well is decided above all by the listening. That is why we run mastering in a room built for that one purpose, not on the side, on the monitors from a recording control room.

What is the mastering room like?

The room exists thanks to Andrzej Lipiński, a respected designer of loudspeakers and professional audio gear. The listening is based on flagship L707A Signature monitors, which show things in a recording that stay inaudible on ordinary monitors.

The monitoring path carries the signal over the Ravenna protocol, through a Merging Horus interface and Mytek converters with custom op-amps. That whole chain matters for what we hear before we sign off on a master.

Can I come to the mastering session?

Yes. You can book the mastering room for yourself and sit in on the session next to the engineer, deciding on the direction as it goes. It suits people who want to hear how each decision changes the track and have a say in where the master should land.

If you would rather not travel, all it takes is to send the stems, and we send the finished master back. We collect notes as bullet points against timestamps, in the form “02:37 - chorus louder”. We describe remote mastering separately on the mix and mastering online page.

When is stem mastering the better choice?

If you are already used to the first version of the recording and mainly want to add power to the whole, mastering from a finished mix is often the sensible move. When you need more control, stem mastering comes in, that is work on groups instead of one file:

  • Lead vocal - the core of the track, around which the rest is set
  • Panned vocals, ad-libs and harmonies - the layers that build the width of the chorus
  • Drums, bass and instruments - the rhythmic and harmonic base of the beat
  • Effects - everything that adds space and movement

That split lets us fix the balance between groups without rebuilding the sound you worked out yourself in the rough.

Why does someone other than the mixer do the mastering?

Someone who has spent a few days on a mix stops hearing it the way a listener in a car will. The ear gets used to its own decisions.

So mastering here is done by someone who is not used to the mix. A fresh pair of ears catches things that had grown familiar to whoever made the mix.

How to order mastering?

Write to us and send the material: a finished mix, or stems if you want to combine mastering with a mix. Add a sentence about where you are and what result you are after, and we will come back with a quote and a date.

Our studio is at ul. Adama Mickiewicza 9/U1 in Żoliborz, Warsaw, 600 metres from the Dworzec Gdański station. You can get here by metro, tram and rail, so you will reach the session without a car. Some of us teach Sound Creation at the Warsaw Film School across the street.
