Dubbing studio in Warsaw

In short: We make Polish language versions for animation and film. The dub for The Amazing Digital Circus on Netflix and for Murder Drones on Amazon Prime was made here. Casting, direction, recording, dialogue editing, mixing and mastering stay in one studio. We cast for the project: from a single voice in a spot to the full cast of a series. We also record voices and music for ads and do sound design for film and video. A session with an engineer is 200 PLN per hour, the rest is quoted from scope. We are at Mickiewicza 9 in Żoliborz, 600 metres from the Dworzec Gdański station.

Dubbing usually falls apart between the stages rather than during the recording. One company casts, a second records, a third edits dialogue and a fourth mixes, and every handover drops a bit of context. Then it turns out the actor played the scene differently than the direction intended, and the fix goes back to a studio that is no longer in the schedule.

Here all of those stages stay at one address and one team answers for them.

What productions have we dubbed?

The Polish dub for The Amazing Digital Circus on Netflix and for Murder Drones on Amazon Prime was made here, from casting to the mixed master. Both shows come from Glitch Productions.

They are animated series, so the work was exactly what dubbing demands most often: matching a character with no real face, and a scene tempo that cannot be nudged. Direction watches the energy there, dialogue editing watches the sync.

What happens at each stage?

The whole production chain stays with us.

That way a note after a review goes back to the same people who recorded the scene, not to the next subcontractor down the chain.

Where does the cast come from?

From our own voice roster. We work with voice-over artists, dubbing actors and singers, and we cast for the project rather than around the availability of one regular performer.

Scale is not the issue: we have recorded both a single voice for a spot and the full cast of a series. If a character has to sing in a scene, we will find the singer here too, because we record music in the same rooms.

You can also bring your own actor or voice-over artist. We then run the session and the post-production, and casting stays on your side.

Do you record voices and music for ads?

Yes, and it is a separate part of our work to picture.

We record voices for spots and campaigns, and if the material needs its own music we will write and produce it in the studio. Effects, atmospheres and the final mix happen in the same place, so a finished spot can be ordered in one go.

Advertising runs to its own rhythm, though. Thirty seconds of material can go through more versions than an episode of a series, so with spots we plan for revision rounds up front and say so before we start.

What does sound design cover?

The audio layer that was not there when the material was shot: atmospheres, effects, foley and the final mix.

We do sound for film, trailers and video material, including cases where we get the picture with nothing but the production dialogue. Studio 3 has a projector and a screen, so the mix to picture is made against the same picture the viewer will see.

What do you get at the end?

It depends on where the material goes next.

We deliver a stereo mix as standard, and 5.1 for platform productions. Dialogue, music and effects stems come out separately, so a distributor or the next contractor can work with them without coming back to us. The master is prepared for the requirements of the specific platform, and if you have your own technical spec, we deliver exactly to it.

How much does dubbing cost?

A recording session with an engineer is 200 PLN per hour, and self-operated recording is 150 PLN per hour. That is what the studio time itself costs.

The rest cannot honestly be put on a price list. An hour of animated dialogue, one episodic role and a thirty-second spot are three different jobs, and dialogue editing, mixing and mastering are quoted from the scope of the material. Tell us how many roles there are, how long the material runs and when it has to be ready, and we will come back with a specific figure.

How do you order dubbing?

Send over a brief or a script. We will answer with a quote and a date.

Three things help: the video or its running time, a list of roles with a short description of each character, and the delivery spec if the client imposes one. We will quote without them too, just with a wider range.
